ALAN BARNES & DAVID NEWTON QUARTET
A joyful evening of world-class, swinging jazz from one of the UK’s best-loved and most distinguished saxophonists, and multi award winning pianist Dave Newton.
Alan Barnes and David Newton have been playing together for over 40 years. These multi award-winners cover a vast repertoire from Louis Armstrong to Chick Corea and play with an empathy that can only come with long experience. The emphasis, as always, is on swinging, accessibility and interplay. Expect a hugely entertaining programme of straight ahead jazz flawlessly played and interspersed with lots of anecdotes. With Matt Fishwick on drums and Fleet Jazz anchor Marianne Windham on bass.

Fleet Jazz Club holds jazz performances from some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians in a “jazz club” environment at the The Harlington, 236 Fleet Road, Fleet GU51 4BY. The club has an enthusiastic and growing following but there’s no membership and you can just buy tickets online or from the Box Office, or usually on the door.
